Harare, (New Ziana) – President Emerson Mnangagwa on Tuesday dismissed the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Mashonaland East, Apollonia Munzverengwi.
She was immediately replaced by Wedza North Member of Parliament, Itayi Ndudzo. according to statements by the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Martin Rushwaya on Tuesday.
“His Excellency the President Dr Mnangagwa has in terms of Section 108 (1a) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, removed Munzverengwi from the Office of Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Mashonaland East Province with immediate effect,” the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Martin Rushwaya said in a statement.
No reason was given for Munzverengwi`s dismissal.Simultaneously, Dr Rushwaya announced Munzverengwi’s replacement.
“His Excellency, The President of Zimbabwe, Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa has in terms of Section 104 Subsection 1 of the Zimbabwean Constitution appointed Honourable Itayi Ndudzo as Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Mashonaland East with immediate effect,” he said.
President Mnangagwa has demanded boldness and decisiveness from his ministers in carrying out their mandates.
