Harare (New Ziana) – Recalled Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) legislator for Mabvuku-Tafara, Phibion Munyaradzi
Kufahakutizwe on Tuesday successfully filed nomination papers to represent his party again in the by election set for December 9 this year.

Kufahakutizwe will fight it out with the losing ZANU (PF) candidate,
Scott Pedzai Sakupwanya in the by-election set for December 9.

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission election registrar Fiona Kurima
confirmed that Kufahakutizwe and Sakupwanya had successfully filed their
papers at the Nomination Court at the Harare Magistrate Court on
Tuesday.

Kufahakutizwe expressed gratitude for being nominated again to represent
Tafara-Mabvuku Constituency despite being recalled last month.

“I’m quite happy to be nominated again and this is funny to me to go for
the by-election just after another election on 23 August 2023 and l’m
ready for campaign,” he said.

A third candidate, David Chitimbe of the Changu Chimuti Chapinda
Chapinda (CCCC) could not fail his papers after he failed to raise the
US$1 000 registration fees.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa proclaimed the dates of the by-election
following recall of 15 MPs, 9 Senators and some councilors by CCC
interim secretary general Sengezo Tshabangu on the basis that they had
ceased to be members of the party.
