Harare, (New Ziana) – The Confederation of Zimbabwe Retailers (CZR) on Thursday congratulated President Emmerson Mnangagwa and the people of Zimbabwe on the signing of the Constitution of Zimbabwe Amendment No. 3 Bill, 2026 into law, saying the move will strengthen governance and boost confidence in the business sector.
In a statement, CZR president Denford Mutashu described the signing as a significant step in Zimbabwe’s constitutional and democratic development.
“This landmark development marks another defining chapter in Zimbabwe’s constitutional and democratic evolution. It reflects the Nation’s collective determination to strengthen governance, safeguard peace, promote policy continuity, and accelerate socio-economic transformation,” Mutashu said.
The body, which represents retailers and wholesalers across the country, said stability and certainty were key for investment and growth.
“As the business community, we believe that peace, stability, certainty and continuity are the foundations upon which investment, trade, industrialisation and economic prosperity are built. For the Retail and Wholesale Sector, a stable policy environment inspires business confidence, stimulates growth, and creates opportunities for increased production and employment,” he said.
Mutashu commended government reforms that he said had improved the business environment and supported local manufacturing.
“Reforms which saw ease and cost of doing business coming down by an average of 60 percent, and a manufacturing boom with more than 85 percent locally manufactured goods occupying shelves, open-door leadership, and commitment to engaging the private sector continue to create an enabling environment for business and economic growth,” he said.
CZR said it would continue working with the government to support economic development.
“As an apex body representing retailers and wholesalers across Zimbabwe, CZR reaffirms its full support for the President’s development agenda and pledges to continue working with the Government. The future of Zimbabwe lies in unity, stability and shared prosperity,” he said.
