Mutare (New Ziana) – Several people are feared dead after a bus they were travelling in burst into flames following a head-on collision with a fuel tanker a few kilometres outside the Eastern City of Mutare, state broadcaster ZBC reported.
The bus, belonging to Beta transport company, was coming from Harare and was carrying an unknown number of people.
According to the report, eye witnesses could only manage to rescue about seven people before the flames engulfed the vehicles, burning those who were still trapped inside.
The police are yet to issue a statement on the accident.
