Sheasham coach calls for character

Share

GWERU – Castle Lager Premier League side Sheasham FC coach Lizwe Sweswe has called for
character from his charges so that the debutants avoid relegation.
Sheasham find themselves in the murky waters of relegation after back-to-back defeats to Manica
Diamonds and Simba Bhora in their last two matches.
They have 23 points from 23 matches and are third from bottom with Black Rhinos and Cranborne
Bullets who they face in their next match below them.
With alarm bells ringing for Sweswe who took over from John Nikadzino before the mid-season
window period, the former Bulawayo Chiefs coach still believes his team can escape the dreaded
chop at the end of the season.
“It is about character…the games will obviously be tough, especially when fighting relegation and
playing teams in the same scenario like Simba Bhora.
“We still have to push, we still have 11 games to play, which means we are playing for 33 points.
What is important is we take each and every game as a final so that we try to move away from the
relegation zone. I think it is possible,” he said.
Commenting on their defeat to Simba Bhora, Sweswe said they were unlucky not to come out with a
point.
“I thought maybe a point was going to do better because we conceded a goal from transition while
the ball was ours. It is about taking our chances because every game we play we create more
chances but fail to bury them. It is about self-belief and believe that they can do it and the boys need
to up their game,” he said.
Sheasham has spent the better part of this season in the relegation zone, which led to the dismissal
of Nyikadzino.
