HARARE — Zimbabwe’s Warriors now know the road they must travel in their bid to qualify for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, with a demanding six-match Group E program set to test their consistency, character, and continental ambitions.
The Warriors have been drawn alongside Sierra Leone, D.R. Congo, and Equatorial Guinea, setting up a competitive qualifying campaign in which every point could prove decisive.
Zimbabwe will open their campaign away to Sierra Leone between September 21 and October 6, 2026, before returning home to face D.R. Congo on the second matchday.
The opening two fixtures could provide an early indication of Zimbabwe’s prospects, with the Warriors needing a positive start before they face Equatorial Guinea in November.
On the third matchday, Zimbabwe will travel to Equatorial Guinea between November 9 and 17, followed by the return fixture at home.
The final window of the qualifying campaign comes between March 22 and 30, 2027, when Zimbabwe hosts Sierra Leone before travelling to face D.R. Congo in what could be a decisive final encounter.
With four nations battling for progression, the Warriors will need to combine home advantage with results on the road if they are to keep their qualification hopes firmly on track.
The opening away assignment against Sierra Leone presents an immediate challenge, while the home clash against D.R. Congo allows Zimbabwe to put points on the board in front of their supporters.
The November double-header against Equatorial Guinea could become another crucial phase of the campaign before the Warriors enter the final stretch in March 2027.
The six-match program will place a premium on squad depth, preparation, and consistency.
Zimbabwe cannot afford to rely on isolated moments of brilliance. Instead, the Warriors will need to build momentum across the campaign, particularly because the qualifying windows are separated by several weeks or months.
