Gweru(The Times-New Ziana) -Three Gweru men were recently arrested for allegedly forging the Midlands State University graduate and guest cards and selling them to people who wanted to attend the November 22 graduation ceremony.

Albert Tsuro (29), Stalin Makasi (31) and Jaramba Charity (30) appeared before Gweru magistrate Edwin Marecha facing forgery charges as defined in Section 137 (1) (a) of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act.

They were remanded in custody to December 31 this year.

The court heard that the trio allegedly forged the MSU graduate and guest cards which they sold to uninvited guests.

A security guard manning the MSU gate Clifford Sithole and his colleagues arrested six people who wanted to use the counterfeit invitation cards to gain entry into the graduation venue.

On being questioned by the security details, the holders of the fake invitation cards revealed that they had bought them at Bahadur Shopping Mall in the city from Tsuro, Makasi and Marecha.

The matter was reported at Senga Police Station leading to the arrest of the trio.
