Harare, (New Ziana) A Muzarabani man committed suicide after killing another man from the same area who had accused him of stealing his goat, said a senior police officer.

On June 3 this year, Jestos Tsikire (51) of Mvundura Village under Chief Kasekete in Muzarabani accused Gamuchirai Mvundura from the same area of stealing his goat, said national police spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi.

Mvundura did not take the allegations lightly and in a fit of rage attacked Tsikire leading to his death.

Upon realising the gravity of the matter, Mvundura allegedly hanged himself, said Commissioner Nyathi.

In another incident, Commissioner Nyathi said police in Madlambuzi arrested one Pastor Moyo (18) in connection with a case of murder which occurred at Mugabe business centre in the area on June 6 this year.

“The suspect teamed up with accomplices namely Mhkuliseli Gumbo (21) and Sabata Moyo (21) and allegedly attacked Qiniso Ndlovu (18) to death,” said Commissioner Nyathi.

He said Pastor Moyo had allegedly found Ndlovu having a conversation with his niece at a secluded place resulting in a heated argument.

The other suspect is however on the run and police is appealing to anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Sabata Moyo to report to any police station.

In yet another sad development, a two-year-old toddler died after falling into a metal dish containing approximately 40 litres of hot porridge in Nzovunde Village in Binga on June 3 this year, said Commissioner Nyathi.

“The dish had been left unattended by the victim’s grandmother, who was preparing to brew traditional beer. The toddler was severely burnt and succumbed to injuries on June 4, 2025,” said the national police spokesperson.
