NYANGA- African Sun Limited has invested US$11,5 million in the
refurbishment of its hotels across the country, with the completion of the
Troutbeck Resort revamp worth US$2 million getting a thumbs up from the
    tourism authority.
In a statement the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) applauded and
congratulated African Sun Limited for their successful refurbishment of parts of
    the Troutbeck Resort.
“ZTA congratulates African Sun on a new look Troutbeck Resort. The Zimbabwe
Tourism Authority would like to extend a big hearty congratulations to African
Sun Limited in their successful refurbishment of parts of the Troutbeck Resort,”
    read the statement.
ZTA Chief Executive, Winnie Muchanyuka said the tourism focus for the year
2023 was destination development which is critical for the industry to lure in
visitors and increase tourism receipts for the country.
“The issue of destination development is also critical to the tourism industry. We
would like to see more investment coming into tourism infrastructure, more hotels,
more accommodation facilities and even more critical is activities for people to do
so that stay longer and pay more within the destination and that way we will
increase our tourism receipts and revenue we could realize from tourism,” she said.
The resort made a public announcement on the completion of the refurbishment of
guest rooms to patrons last week.
“We are pleased to share that we have completed the refurbishment and revamping
of our guest rooms,” the resort said.
This is in addition to the phase one refurbishment previously rolled out to the
resort’s public areas, including the Beck Restaurant, Pavilion, and Sun Lounge
    areas.

Overlooking a private trout lake and a nine hole golf course, Troutbeck Resort
Nestles in a valley high in the Nyanga Mountains.
A roaring pine log fire burns throughout the year, welcoming guests to the warmth
    and friendliness.
Troutbeck is renowned for its sporting facilities and guests can enjoy trout fishing,
golf, riding, bowls, tennis, squash, croquet and boating.
Product Development is one of the major steps outlined in the tourism sector
strategy as stakeholders seek to attain the US$5 Billion Dollar Tourism Economy
    by 2025.
