Tsholotsho Form 3 student up for rape .

Police in Tsholotsho have arrested a 17-year-old Form Three boy for allegedly raping a Form One
student at Mpanedziba Secondary School in Tsholotsho .
According to Matabeleland North acting Provincial Community Relations and Liaison Officer, Ass
Inspector Christopher Mahohoma the incident happened on November 19 when the Form One girl
had gone to her classroom looking for her missing Ndebele text book.
“She found the suspect seated on top of a desk alone. The victim did not mind the presence of the
suspect and continued searching for her textbook. During the process the suspect stood up, grabbed
the victim by her T-shirt and dragged her into a classroom storeroom which was not locked where
he then raped her once,” said Mahohoma
The suspect fled from the scene, but the victim narrated the ordeal to the Matron who then
reported the matter to police.
Police managed to arrest the suspect who was released into the custody of the School head.
In a similar incident, Police in Lupane are seeking for information in connection with Caspar Twala of
Shabula Range under Chief Mabikwa who also allegedly raped a person he is closely related to on
November 20.
“The victim and her other two siblings were left in the custody of Caspar Twala by their
grandmother. It was during the absence of the grandmother when the suspect called the victim into
his bedroom hut where he raped her once.”
She failed to scream because he covered her mouth and later threatened to beat her up should she
disclose the rape.
“The victim did not take heed of the threats and narrated to her grandmother what happened to her
upon her arrival back home. The grandmother quickly took the victim to police and lodged a police
report,” said Mahohoma.
Meanwhile the accused is at large and the victim was taken to St Luke’s hospital for medical
examination.
The police have urged community members to be cautious with the people whom they entrust with
their girl child saying every man is a potential.
“It is worrisome that perpetrators of these offences are neighbours and close relatives of the victims
who are supposed to be giving them protection from sexual abuse. The police would like to warn the
offenders that wheels of justice are turning and the long arm of the law will catch up with them”
said Mahohoma.
