Harare (New Ziana) -The Zimbabwe Republic Police has launched a manhunt for two suspects who duped more than 70 people of USD$300 000 after purporting that they were selling cement at very low prices.

The duo, Andy Baleni also known as Mambo Ndini and Tinashe Zimunya, allegedly advertised on radio and social media that were selling at very low prices to lure unsuspecting members of the public.

In a press statement, national police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the two suspects, who used a fake address of 10 Mbuya Nehanda Street, would demand an upfront payment where the delivery would be done within 7 days.

“Resultantly, more than 70 victims fell prey to the scam and were defrauded approximately USD$300 000,” he said.

Ass Comm Nyathi urged members of the public to exercise diligence before making any payments.
