Kwekwe (New Ziana) -Midlands police are inviting members of the public with missing relatives to go and identify the body of a man which has been lying at Kwekwe General Hospital for two months, with the law enforcers expressing concern at cases of people who are being found dead without identity documents.

Provincial police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said the man died when the vehicle he had boarded was involved in an accident in October this year along the Gokwe-Kwekwe road.

“The man only known as Alboy Ncube boarded a Honda fit which was involved in a fatal road accident along Kwekwe-Gokwe road at Tiger Reef junction and died on the spot on the 21st of October 2021 at around 1445 hours,” he said.

Insp Mahoko said the deceased is dark in complexion, approximately 30 years old, medium built and about 1.5 metres tall.

He said the man was wearing a red T- Shirt inscribed Manchester United, Black pair of jean trousers and black shoes when he met his fate.

“Members of the public missing a relative matching the description given above may approach Kwekwe Traffic or any nearest police station.

“The body is being held at Kwekwe General Hospital mortuary,” Mahoko said.

He said the Zimbabwe Republic police was concerned with cases of deaths of people without identification particulars in areas where they are not known, making their identification difficult.

“He had no identification particulars on him making the identification of the body very difficult,” he said.

“Members of the public must appreciate that it is always important to have identification particulars at all times and where possible have a trusted person know your movements. These will assist when need arises.”
