Harare, (New Ziana) – State owned petrochemicals, energy and corresponding engineering technology innovator, Verify Engineering, is using the 2026 Feira Internacional de Maputo (FACIM) to pursue new export markets, business partnerships and investment opportunities, in a move the government says demonstrates the growing industrial capacity of the country.
According to the government on its National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2) X account, the company, which is now one of the major suppliers of medical and industrial gases in the country, has attracted enquiries from international buyers and prospective business partners at the regional trade showcase.
The government described the development as evidence of Zimbabwean industry increasingly looking beyond the domestic market.
“This is more than a trade fair appearance. It is Zimbabwean industry selling beyond Zimbabwe’s borders,” it said, highlighting the potential for such market linkages to stimulate production, investment, employment and foreign-currency earnings.
Verify Engineering is showcasing capabilities ranging from medical gases to industrial solutions and specialised engineering services, placing Zimbabwean-manufactured and engineered products before buyers and potential partners from across the region.
The government said the participation of the company demonstrates that local firms have the capacity to compete in regional markets when connected to appropriate opportunities.
“From essential medical gases to industrial solutions and engineering expertise, Verify Engineering is demonstrating that Zimbabwe can manufacture, engineer and compete in regional markets,” the Government said.
The FACIM engagements come at a time when Zimbabwe is placing greater emphasis on industrialization, value addition and export diversification under the NDS2, the country’s five-year development strategy covering 2026 to 2030.
Rather than relying primarily on the export of raw materials, the strategy seeks to strengthen domestic production and encourage Zimbabwean companies to add value locally before accessing regional and international markets.
Verify Engineering’s product range provides an example of ther way that approach can extend beyond conventional manufacturing into specialised technical services.
The company operates in the production and supply of medical and industrial gases while also providing engineering services for industrial and healthcare applications.
Its participation at FACIM therefore creates an avenue for the company to identify new customers, explore partnerships and potentially expand the geographical reach of its products and expertise.
“Produce here. Add value here. Sell to the region,” the government said, framing export-oriented production as an important pathway towards the industrial growth envisaged under NDS2 and Vision 2030.
FACIM, one of Mozambique’s major international trade platforms, provides Zimbabwean companies with an opportunity to engage businesses and investors from Mozambique and other markets, making it an important platform for companies seeking to expand their regional footprint.
The presence of Verify Engineering in Maputo thus places a practical face on Zimbabwe’s export-led industrialization drive: produce locally, add value domestically and compete for customers across the region.
Verify Engineering is a wholly government owned private limited limited company, formed in April 2005 under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development in line with its Heritage Based 5.0 policy, which emphasis critical thinking, problem-solving, and 21st-century skills to contribute to the development of the country.
