Zimbabwe national team defender Divine Lunga is reportedly linked to a shooting incident that occurred in Johannesburg, South Africa, which has since been registered as an attempted murder case by authorities.
According to police accounts, the incident began in the Hillbrow area when Lunga was allegedly driving a blue BMW with friends along Tudhope Street. The group was approached by an unidentified man who claimed he had just been robbed and pointed them towards a vehicle believed to be involved.
Reports indicate that Lunga and his companions attempted to follow the suspected vehicle in an effort to assist the alleged victim. The situation then escalated into a high-speed pursuit through busy inner-city streets.
During the chase, occupants of the suspected vehicle allegedly opened fire on the BMW. One bullet reportedly struck the car, leaving damage, but no injuries were reported.
