    Zim Covid-19 cases reach 4 575

    Harare (New Ziana)-Zimbabwe on Saturday recorded 124 Covid-9 cases, bringing its total number of cases to 4 575, the Ministry of Health and Child Care has said.

    In a daily update released early Sunday, the Health Ministry said 52 of the new cases were recorded in Harare, 34 in Manicaland, 26 in Midlands and Bulawayo had 10.

    The new Covid- 19 infections came out of the 1 425 tests conducted on Saturday.

    “One hundred and twenty-four (124) cases tested positive for Covid-19 today .These include 118 local cases and 6 returnees from South Africa.
    “New recoveries were reported by the following provinces: Midlands (35), Manicaland (22), Bulawayo (7) and Matabeleland North (7).

    “Since the onset of the Covid-19 outbreak on 20 March 2020, the total number of confirmed cases is 4 575; recovered 1 416, active cases 3 057 and 102 deaths,” it said.

    Cumulatively, Zimbabwe has tested 148 451 samples for Covid-19 and about 75 percent of these were conducted at public institutions.
