    Zim COVID-19 deaths now at 6

    Harare(New Ziana)-Zimbabwe now has recorded 6 COVID-19 deaths with the latest being two females who succumbed to the disease in Bulawayo and Midlands, the Health Ministry has said.

    In its daily update early Sunday, Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Health and Child Care said the deceased were females aged 79 and 60 respectively.

    “Today, we regret to report two (2) deaths, one is a facility death and the other is a community death both females aged 79 and 60 respectively.

    “The facility death is from Bulawayo who tested positive on the 17th of June 2020 and had other co-morbidities whilst the community death is from Midlands province who tested positive for COVID-19 following routine swabbing on the 19th of June 2020,” the Ministry said.

    Meanwhile, the ministry also reported that seven returning citizens tested positive on Saturday, bringing the country’s total confirmed cases to 486.

    “Seven cases tested positive for COVID-19 today.These are all returnees from South Africa (6) and Portugal (1) and are all isolated.

    “To date, the total number of confirmed cases is 486; recovered 64, active cases 416 and six deaths, since the onset of the outbreak on March 20th, 2020.”

    Cumulatively, Zimbabwe has tested 62 397 samples for COVID-19.
