Harare (New Ziana) – Zimbabwe’s honorary consul to Israel, Ronny Levi Musan on Thursday paid a courtesy call on President Emerson Mnangagwa at State House.

Musan, an Israeli national, was appointed to the post by President Mnangagwa in August this year to spearhead re-engagement efforts with the Middle Eastern nation.

Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Musan said he was optimistic that Zimbabwe-Israeli relations would blossom.

“What we bring is a message of hope, the good news you know as the story of Christmas tells us according to the Bible that when the people came to Bethlehem they brought the good news of the birth of Christ, we are planning to bring, by the grace of God next year, good news when it comes to agriculture, when it comes to farmers when it comes to diplomacy,” he said.

“His Excellency the President and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Sibusiso Moyo gave us their trust and because of that I became the honorary consul of Zimbabwe. I can tell you that the fact that we are closer now, the relations between Israel and Zimbabwe are much closer I believe it is going to push other countries to join in because Israel has a lot of influence and I can assure you that we are going to do our best to connect you to any other country we have contact with.”

Musan said current domestic efforts to revive Zimbabwe’s economy, coupled with the assistance of the international community would help Zimbabwe conquer its current challenges.

“I can assure you all that Zimbabwe will flourish again,” he said.
