Harare, (New Ziana) – Zimbabwe on Sunday recorded 27 new cases of Covid-19, taking the tally of confirmed cases to 383, the Ministry of Health and Child Care said.

The jump comes as Zimbabwe on Monday held a National Day of Prayer
and Fasting dedicated to fighting the growing menace.

To date, the pandemic has killed four people and 54 others have
recovered but officials remain worried about the growing number of new
    infections.

“To date the total number of confirmed cases is 383, recovered 54,
active cases 325 and four deaths since the onset of the outbreak on 20
March 2020,” the health ministry said.

Zimbabwe is currently under a level two lockdown for an indefinite
period as government tries to contain local transmission of the
    disease.

To date, returnees from other countries account for the bulk of
cases in Zimbabwe, including the latest infections.
