Harare,(New Ziana) — The Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (ZIMSTAT) will next week begin a nationwide household listing exercise as part of preparations for the 2025 ICT Access and Use by Households and Individuals Survey.

In a statement, ZIMSTAT acting public relations and communication manager, Rolond Chiringa said the exercise, set to run from 12 to 21 October 2025, will see ZIMSTAT enumerators visiting households in selected enumeration areas across the country to compile an updated list of residences ahead of the main data collection phase scheduled for November 2025.

“The Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (ZIMSTAT) will conduct a household listing exercise for the 2025 ICT Access and Use by Households and Use by Individuals Survey from 12 to 21 October 2025.

“During this exercise, ZIMSTAT Enumerators will visit all households within selected enumeration areas across the country,” said Chiringa. He said the listing process is a critical preparatory step to ensure that all eligible households are properly captured before the main survey begins.

Enumerators, said Chiringa, will be carrying official identification letters to verify their authenticity during visits. He emphasized that the survey is being conducted under the authority of the Census and Statistics Act, which guarantees the confidentiality of all information collected.

Data obtained through the survey, added Chiringa will be used exclusively for statistical purposes — particularly in policy formulation, planning, and monitoring of national development indicators.

ZIMSTAT has appealed for full cooperation of households in the selected areas to facilitate the smooth conduct of the exercise and contribute to the success of this important national project.

“The information gathered will help the country understand the level of access to and use of information and communication technologies, which is vital for informed decision-making and digital development,” he said.
