Zaka (New Ziana) – President Emmerson Mnangagwa arrived in Zaka around mid-day on Sunday for an election rally expected to be attended by tens of thousands of ruling Zanu-PF supporters from various parts of Masvingo province.

The country will hold combined presidential, parliamentary and local government elections next month to choose new representatives to run state affairs for the next five years.

The Zaka rally is President Mnangagwa ‘s fourth countrywide, with all so far being packed with enthusiastic supporters.

Earlier presidential rallies were held in Manicaland, Matabeleland South and Mashonaland West provinces, where his main campaign message has been development, peace and unity.

Masvingo province is traditionally a Zanu-PF stronghold, where the opposition has only managed to win a few parliamentary seats in past elections.
