Alcohol is often the preferred drink of choice when it comes to socialising and unwinding, with most people swearing as their go to beverage to calm their minds and have fun.

Unfortunately for Lebuhang Ncube of Madlangombe line from Tsholotsho it is a confidence booster for all negatives thoughts and reckless behaviour.

It allegedly that on February 6, Accordance Sibanda was relaxed drinking beer at the Nemane Business Centre when the accused Ncube approached him over a debt.

The court heard that an altercation ensued between the two men, where Ncube picked a gold stick and struck Sibanda several times, all over the body.

Nomthandazo Mafu, the prosecutor, told the court that Ncube stabbed the victim with a knife several times on the stomach before fleeing the scene leaving the victim unconscious. Mkhum-buleni Sibanda, the complainant’s father then took Accordance to Tsholotsho District Hospital, and subsequently, a report was filed, resulting in Ncube’s arrest.
