Harare, (New Ziana) – In a spirited call to action, the Founding Director of Christian Youth Towards Vision 2030, Chaplain Chirume, has urged young people across Zimbabwe to embrace a new mindset grounded in hard work, faith, and innovation as the country moves towards achieving its national Vision 2030 goals.

Speaking ahead of the organization’s upcoming Youth Mobilization Strategy Launch set for November 7, Chaplain Chirume said the movement’s mission is to unite all Christian youths across church denominations under a common vision of productivity, responsibility, and moral uprightness.

He emphasized that the initiative draws inspiration from Nehemiah 4:6, which reads, “The wall was built because people had a mind to work.”

“We are mobilizing Christian youths from all denominations to align themselves with the mindset of hard work and discipline as guided by scripture,” he said. “Our goal is to develop young people who not only serve God but also contribute meaningfully to national development.”

Chaplain Chirume noted that one of the major objectives of Christian Youth Towards Vision 2030 is to instill Christian values while tackling pressing social challenges such as drug and substance abuse and early child marriages.

The organization also promotes Education 5.0, which encourages young people to specialize in their areas of strength — whether academic, technical, or artistic — and to innovate rather than wait for employment opportunities.

“We are decolonizing the mindset that life is about job-hunting,” Chaplain Chirume explained. “Our youths should see themselves as employers, innovators, and nation builders. Jobs are scarce, but opportunities abound for those with skills and vision.”

Since its inception, the organization has already trained over 10,000 youths across the country in various vocational and entrepreneurial skills — all offered for free.
Ambitiously, Chaplain Chirume revealed that the target for next year is to train 10,000 youths per province, thereby scaling up impact and equipping young people with practical tools for economic independence.

Beyond skills training, the organization is now focusing on youth start-ups. During the November 7 event, Christian Youth Towards Vision 2030 will hand over chickens and feed to selected young beneficiaries as part of its empowerment projects, aimed at nurturing self-sustaining livelihoods.

Chaplain Chirume highlighted that since Zimbabwe’s independence in 1980, there has not been a faith-based initiative that unites youths from various church backgrounds under one developmental agenda. This, he said, gives the organization a unique platform to promote unity and inclusivity in line with President Mnangagwa’s vision of “leaving no one and no place behind.”
“For us, that means leaving no church youth behind,” he said. “We want to speak with one voice — the voice of a determined, disciplined, and empowered Christian youth ready to build the Zimbabwe we want.”

With its expanding footprint and bold goals, Christian Youth Towards Vision 2030 is emerging as a powerful platform for faith-driven transformation — one that seeks to build not just walls of economic resilience, but also a generation of youths with a mind to work, to serve, and to lead.
