Chibaya and Ngarivhume identified as ringleaders of planned violent activities

Harare, (New Ziana) – The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has identified former Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) organising secretary and Transform Zimbabwe leader Jacob Ngarivhume, as some of the instigators and ringleaders of violent activities being planned throughout the country.

In a statement on Wednesday, national police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi strongly warned individuals and groups planning violent activities, including malicious damage to property through acts such as burning tyres and destroying buildings, that the law will take its full course without fear or favour.

“Some of the suspects have been identified as Jacob Ngarivhume and Amos Chibaya,” he said.

He said the ZRP and other security agencies remain on high alert and will decisively deal with unruly elements who intend to disturb the peaceful environment prevailing in the country.

Com Nyathi urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities, including incitement to violence, threats, or intimidation to engage in unlawful acts, adding reports can be made through the National Complaints Desk or at any nearest police station.

He reiterated the commitment of the police force to maintaining law and order, warning that those who choose to engage in violence will face the full consequences of their actions.
