CHINHOYI – CHINHOYI gospel artists’ society is set to hold a gospel concert at the
    CSC complex on September 23.
Attendance is free at the concert, which is being hosted by Brian Isango and Vanessa
Matapuri, who say they discovered a missing aspect and decided to address it by
organising a worship concert for all gospel artists in Chinhoyi.
The main purpose of the show is to bring together gospel artists and give them a
platform to showcase their talent, at the same time praying for the young generation that
is indulging in drugs so that they can find closure and desist from the practice.
“To worship God as Chinhoyi gospel musicians in one place is something that has not
been done here before and we decided that we should have a concert, invite all gospel
musicians, gather together and intercede on behalf of Chinhoyi and the young
generation that is indulging in drugs,” explained Matapuri, one of the hosts.
A few months ago, Platinum FM Radio Station hosted an anti-drugs and substance
abuse show and the gospel artists say they want to do the same to help raise
awareness and pray for the young generations in one place.
Matapuri also spoke on the reaction that the gospel society gave to the show saying,
“so far the musicians that I have approached and spoken to are in and they are actually
happy that an opportunity like this has arisen and they are up to grab it. Over twenty-five
artists have responded saying they will be there”.
She also appealed to Chinhoyi residents to come in their numbers and give all the
support they can while also praying for the young generation indulging in drugs and
substance abuse in the hope that they may find closure and stop, by the grace of God.
“This is not just a show, but a worship encounter and we will be praying that as we
worship God, He will be able to change our lives and give our brothers and sisters, who
are doing drugs, closure that they may be able to find strength and stop in order to have
a healthy and useful generation of young people,” she explained.
