Harare,(New Ziana) — Leading beverages producer, Delta Corporation, has appointed Harare Institute of Technology (HIT) vice chancellor, Engineer Quintonn Kanhukamwe, as a non-executive director.

Delta Corporation chairman, Todd Moyo, welcomed the appointment, expressing confidence in the wealth of experience and leadership that Eng Kanhukamwe brings to the board.

“The Board of Directors welcomes Prof. Eng. Kanhukamwe to the company and looks forward to his contribution. His appointment will go a long way to enhance the group’s performance,” he said in a statement.

Professor Kanhukamwe is a respected academic and engineer with over three decades of experience in higher education and industrial innovation. His career has seen him serve as Faculty Dean and Director of Techno Park at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST), shaping policy and practice in science, engineering, and technology.

A highly decorated academic and administrator, Prof. Kanhukamwe holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, an MSc in Metallurgical Engineering, and qualifications in university and higher education management from globally recognized institutions.

He is also the current Chairperson of the Southern African Regional Universities Association (SARUA) Board, positioning him at the forefront of regional academic cooperation and development.

Beyond academia, Prof. Kanhukamwe has made significant contributions to national and regional development through leadership roles in several strategic institutions.

He has served on boards such as the Zimbabwe Institute of Engineers (ZIE), Engineering Council of Zimbabwe (ECZ), UDCORP, ZUPCO (as Board Chairman), NAMACO, and the Marondera State University Foundation Committee.

He is a former board member of the Association of African Universities (AAU) and played a pivotal role in driving the Zimbabwe Research and Education Network (ZimREN). His outstanding contributions have earned him the prestigious Presidential CEO of the Year award twice — in 2022 and 2023 — reflecting his commitment to excellence in both academic and corporate governance circles.

With Delta Corporation continuing its strategic expansion and innovation across the region, industry watchers see Kanhukamwe’s appointment as a signal of the company’s intent to strengthen its leadership with a blend of academic, engineering, and management expertise.

Delta Corporation is Zimbabwe’s largest beverage company, producing and distributing a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including lager beers, soft drinks, and traditional African brews. It is listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange and is a key player in the region’s manufacturing and consumer goods sectors.
