ZVISHAVANE — The Second Republic’s efforts towards improving education continues to bear fruit in
rural areas with the recent completion of state-of-the-art schools in the Midlands province.
Some of the schools that were recently completed in the province include, Budiriro and Nenyuka
Primary Schools in Gokwe North, Neta in Mberengwa and Insukamini Secondary Schools in Lower
    Gweru.

Speaking at the commissioning of Nakweva Primary School under Headman Shiku, Chief Masunda in
Zvishavane recently, by Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Torerayi Moyo, the Minister
of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Midlands, Owen Ncube said the construction of the
school has brought education closer to the learners.

Addressing the beneficiaries of the school, Minister Ncube acknowledged the government’s
enrichment of the Education 5.0 policy and noted the communities' appraisal for massive
infrastructure development in the education sector and beyond.

Since the ushering in of the Second Republic in 2018, the resounding victory of our ruling party,
Zanu PF in the 2023 harmonised elections, our communities have witnessed massive infrastructure
development including the education sector rolled out through the devolution and decentralisation
drive and some development partners, said Minister Ncube.

The government has realised that these benefits are a result of the people’s trust in their leadership
which is highly resourceful and addresses community challenges as the nation march towards the
attainment of an Upper Middle Income Society by 2030.

Minister Ncubalso encouraged youths to abstain from drugs and substance abuse and promised full
capacitation of schools by providing electricity, water, ICT facilities and school enterprises for
teaching of practical skills and revenue generation.

"Midlands Province will continue to work towards closing capacity gaps in our schools and education
system in general with respect to the full implementation of Education 5.0. l commit my office to
ensure electrification of our schools, provision of ICT equipment, establishment of reticulated water
systems as well as school enterprises for teaching of practical skills and revenue generation, " he
    said.
