Harare man loses nearly US$70 00 cash, jewelery

Harare, (New Ziana) – A man from Greendale, Harare, on Thursday reportedly lost nearly US$70 000 cash and jewelery to three masked suspected robbers that attacked his home with bricks and logs, police have confirmed.
In a post on X, the police national spokesperson, Assistant commissioner Paul Nyathi said the law enforcement agency was investigating the robbery in which US$61 000woth of jewelery and US$16 800 cash were seized by the three suspected robbers.
He appealed to the public for information on the whereabouts of the suspected robbers.
Robberies have become common place around the country with cash hoarding individuals, cash taking businesses such as fuel service stations and grocery stores being the major targets.
Schools have also become favourite hunting grounds for suspected robbers especially during schools opening days when they are known to receive large amounts of money in cash for school fees.
