Hwange-based musician Ento Bouy has joined forces with Young Garent to release a chart-topping single titled Ukuthandwa, a vibrant track dedicated to celebrating romantic partners and the steadfast support they provide.
The single, engineered and produced by I’mour, has rapidly gained traction across social media platforms, capturing the attention of music lovers nationwide.
In an exclusive interview, Ento Bouy emphasised that the song’s core message is the importance of spreading love and fostering peace within communities.
“As we all know, love is both lovely and Godly. I am striving to spread the ‘virus’ of love across the nation, because, after all, we all originate from love,” he remarked.
Ento Bouy also highlighted the challenges young artists face in Zimbabwe, particularly in marketing their work.
“Marketing is one of the biggest obstacles for young artists. There is a wealth of talent and many excellent projects, but without exposure, there is little hope of success,” he explained.
The collaboration with Young Garent was, according to Ento Bouy, a deliberate effort to bridge cultural divides and discourage tribalism through music.
“I recognised the talent in Young Garent and wanted to demonstrate to Zimbabwe that Ndebele and Shona people are united. The song features a blend of both languages,” he added.
Ento Bouy is renowned for using his music to reflect societal values, promote unity, and celebrate the transformative power of love. The partnership between Ento Bouy, who is Shona, and Young Garent, who is Ndebele, is a testament to Zimbabwe’s cultural diversity.
Their track, Ukuthandwa, seamlessly fuses the two languages, showcasing the potential for different traditions to come together and create something unique and extraordinary.
Ento Bouy’s recent discography demonstrates his versatility, with songs such as Mwana-a love song that marries dance, creative arts, reggae, dancehall, and chanting. Kolo Kolo explores the power of love, while Wechitonga narrates the story of a boy who falls in love with a Tonga girl. Each track highlights the rich cultural tapestry and musical ingenuity that Ento Bouy brings to the Zimbabwean music scene.
Ukuthandwa stands as a celebration of love, unity, and the boundless possibilities that arise when artists from different backgrounds collaborate.
