CHINHOYI – MOREBLESSING Chinyandura, the current Miss Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT) is preparing to contest in the Miss African Universities in Abuja, Nigeria, in December.
The current Miss CUT is studying for a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting at the university.
Chinyandura has started preparations for the contest and has been undertaking charity work as a build-up to the Miss Africa Universities since beauty with brains is a required component in the pageant.
The Chinhoyi-born model is aspiring to become the next Miss Africa Universities two years after starting off as a freelance model. She is a professional model committed to charity work mostly involving empowerment of the girl child.
Due to increased numbers in human trafficking, sexual abuse as well as drug abuse cases, Chinyandura wants to register a non-profit organisation in Zimbabwe dedicated to girls, as some are victims of various kinds of abuse or those thinking of going overseas to work but finding themselves victims of human trafficking.
The organisation intends to provide fashion designing, beauty therapy and arts, services like mentoring, consultation on which countries are fit for the girls to work.
Despite the stiff competition from all other African universities, Chinyandura has high hopes of being crowned the next queen at the annual event because of her hard work and love for modelling.
“I was privileged to be selected to go and represent Zimbabwe. I see this as a life time opportunity, where I will get exposure to different students with their own culture and raise awareness about the hardships girl children face in my home country. The challenges include early child marriages due to poverty, and gender based violence.
“What I will learn there will not only benefit me but the entire nation, as I might have the chance to get funds for my future projects,” she said.
She appealed to the corporate world and individuals to assist her to meet the requirements and urged those interested and needing more information to contact her Manager, Farai Chikore on +263774277637.
