A FILABUSI man, finally gave up on life on Wednesday last week, when he decided to end his life.
The man was found hanging on February 7, 2024. The tragedy is attributed to mounting debts, which he claimed, in his suicide note, had sunk him into abject poverty.

Provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Loveness Mangena, confirmed the death of Milton Mpofu (34).

“We are investigating a case of sudden death, which occurred on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.
“The deceased, Milton Mpofu, who resided at Mulola Village under chief Maduna in Filabusi, was found hanging from a tree nearby Mbalabala-Masvingo turn-off,” explained Insp Mangena.

His body was discovered by a maize vendor, who had visited the nearby bush to answer a call of nature. She was on her way when she bumped in to Mpofu’s body, which was hanging from a tree.

Having seen it, she then went back to her trading base to alert her workmates before proceeding to report the matter to the police.
