Harare, (New Ziana) – The late National Hero, Africn Apostolic Church Archbishop Paul Mwazha, who passed away on Thursday last week, will be laid to rest on Sunday, in Chirasauta village, Chikomba district in Mashonaland East province.
In a statement, the Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage, the burial will be conducted in accordance with the wishes of the Mwazha family and the African Apostolic Church, with proceedings presided over by close family members and church representatives.
“The Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage is advising the nation that the Late National Hero, Archbishop Mamvura Ernest Paul Mwazha, who died on 20 November 2025 will be laid to rest on Sunday 30 November in Chirasuata, Chikomba District. As per the family request, the burial will be presided over by close family members and the church,” it said.
Mourners are currently gathered at the family residence at No. 8 Jefferson Road, Hatfield, Harare, where preparations are underway.
On Friday, 28 November, the remains of the Archbishop will be collected from Nyaradzo Funeral Parlour and taken to his Hatfield home, where they will lie in state with a church service scheduled to run from 7 PM to 10 PM.
The following day, the body will be airlifted to Guvambwa, where body viewing will begin at 4pm and continue through the night until 6am the next morning.
On Sunday, 30 November, at 8am, the late Archbishop will be flown from Guvambwa to Chirasauta Business Centre, his final resting place. Burial rites will take place from 9am to 12pm.
The Ministry has encouraged members of the public to attend in large numbers to honour the revered religious leader and national figure. However, it also reminded mourners that the funeral will be held under strict religious protocols, urging all attendees to comply with the church’s guidelines.
Archbishop Mwazha, affectionately known as a “Man of God and Son of the Soil,” leaves behind an enduring legacy of spiritual leadership, unity, and service.
