Nyasha C to launch first album

KAROI – MAKOMBORERO Nyasha an Afro-Pop upcoming musician also known as Nyasha C
is preparing to launch her first music album.
She is preparing to launch her first album titled Mambakwedza later this year.
The album will consist six songs and the title is an inspiration itself, like we can say the sun will
rise again, in life we can face a lot of hardships. We break down but this should never stop us.
The sun will rise, a new day, just having or knowing that there is tomorrow gives one hope, said
Nyasha.
Nyasha, who hails from Chiedza in Karoi, started music in 2018 when she was doing her work-
related learning at Zvimba Rural District Council.
Well I realised that I liked to sing and was good in writing songs in 2015 when I took a gap year
after finishing High school
I then went to study Bachelor of Social Sciences Honours Degree in Geography and Population
Studies at Lupane State University. During the time, music was just my hobby, said Nyasha.
She started communicating with Hendricks Chagumuka an artist who is currently based in Italy
who helped her realise the talent she had and motivated her to pursue her dream of singing.
During that time, she was staying in Murombedzi. Her Primary School music teacher, Gilbert
Venge, also played a major role in making her appreciate music.
Chagumuka helped me record my first song titled Manyara at Track Records produced by
Spencer Masango. The song was a hit and I give special thanks to the two men.
Nyasha C said she was also inspired by the Gwevedzi tribe as well as Willis Wataffi music.
The artist has recorded a number of single tracks after Manyara that include Bata, Zuva, Shona
and many other tracks.
I had to go back to school and the final year was not easy because of the dissertation so, I had to
switch off a bit from doing music so as not to lose focus.”
Nyasha urged upcoming artists to specialise in various skills in order to survive rather than only
relying on music alone.

I encourage the upcoming artists to finish their education first because in our country it takes a
lot for one to be popular in music. Good recording studios are expensive that it will be hard for
one to record, said Nyasha.
