Harare, November 08, 2019 (New Ziana) – President Emmerson Mnangagwa late Friday reshuffled his cabinet by reassigning five ministers and creating one new ministry.

The reshuffle, announced by Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Misheck Sibanda, is the first major one since Cabinet was appointed last year and follows the recent firing of former tourism minister, Priscah Mupfumira who is facing a slew of corruption charges.

In the reshuffle, Mupfumira has been replaced by Mangaliso Ndlovu, who was moved from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.

Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare Minister, Dr Sekai Nzenza takes over from Ndlovu at industry, while she was replaced by Professor Paul Mavima, who was re-assigned from the Primary and Secondary Education Ministry.

Prof Mavima was replaced by former Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage Minister, Cain Mathema.

Information Communication Technology Minister, Kazembe Kazembe moves over to Home Affairs and has been replaced by Jenfan Muswere, who moves into cabinet for the first time.

Daniel Garwe was appointed Minister for the newly created Ministry of National Housing and Social Amenities and will be deputised by Yeukai Simbanegavi.

Eight deputy ministers were also appointed to various ministries as President Mnangagwa moves to make his A-team more effective in delivering government objectives.
