Harare, (New Ziana) – The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has slapped Yadah FC and one of its top officials with heavy fines and sanctions following the assault of goalkeeper Godknows Gurure after a league match played against Ngezi Platinum Stars on 22 August this year at Heart Stadium in Waterfalls, Harare.
In a statement, PSL communications officer Kudzai Bare said the league Disciplinary Committee found Yadah executive member Spencer Muvadi guilty of breaching league regulations over his involvement in the incident and fined him US$4 000 as well as ordered him to cover the costs of the hearing.
“The Premier Soccer League Disciplinary Committee has issued its judgment in the matter involving Yadah FC, its representatives and the Club’s Executive member Spencer Muvadi following the assault on Yadah FC goalkeeper, Godknows Gurure after their match against Ngezi Platinum Stars FC played on 22 August 2025 at the Heart stadium.
“Mr Muvadi was found guilty of breaching the PSL Rules and Regulations and the Committee has imposed a fine of $4 000 (Four Thousand Dollars), together with the costs of the hearing,” she said.
Bare said Muvadi was also handed a one-year ban from conducting any football business on behalf of Yadah FC or any other club competing in the PSL.
Muvadi was also barred from holding any official position or attending any PSL-sanctioned matches during the period, with the sanctions taking effect immediately.
Yadah FC were not spared either as the club was found guilty of contravening PSL Rules and Regulations and fined US$5 000, in addition to the costs of the hearing, with the fine to be settled within 15 days of the ruling, said Bare.
“The Premier Soccer League reiterates its commitment to upholding discipline, protecting the integrity of the game and promoting a safe and professional environment for all participants,” she said.
Bare said the ruling serves as a stern warning to clubs and officials that misconduct will not be tolerated as the league seeks to safeguard professionalism within Zimbabwean football.
