POLICE in Kadoma are looking for a Martin Spur man after his wife was found dead in their matrimonial home.

Ackim Mabheka, husband to Constance Chiedza Shawano, was last seen around 7pm on March 28 together with his wife. They were at a local beer outlet in a compound in the area.

The couple was never seen again after the beer outlet. On April 7 at around 4:30am one of the locals in the compound sensed a stinking smell coming from the couple’s house. She went to check at the house and noticed that it was locked.

She then advised Shawano’s uncle, Ignatius Shawano (38), who lives in the same compound about the smell emanating from the couple’s house. She and the uncle then went but found out that the door was locked from the outside. They then called Partson Shawano (65), Constance’s father who lives in Kadoma.

When the father arrived, they teamed up and broke down the padlock on the door and entered the house. They noticed that the smell was coming from a body covered with a brown blanket and that maggots were all over and around Constance’s body.

A report was made to the police and Kadoma Police Rural attended the scene. The body was lying face down and naked. Police also found out that everything in the house was intact, with no sign showing that anything could have happened.

Mashonaland West Police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Ian Kohwera, said they were appealing to anyone who might have information on the whereabouts of Mabheka so that he could help with the investigations.

“We appeal to those who might know or have information on the whereabouts of Ackim Mabheka so that he helps police with the investigations being done on what happened to his wife,” said Kohwera.
Because of the state in which the body was when it was found, nothing could be established on how she died.
