CHINHOYI–YOU are probably wondering; what is the best time to travel? Some like to travel on holidays while others like to travel off season because it’s cheaper and there is less traffic.
If you want to travel to areas like Kariba, Mana Pools, Bumi Hills, Binga and Victoria Falls keep in mind that these areas are in the hot region. Sometimes the heat can be excessive. If you do not like the hot season it is best to visit from March to August.
If you want to visit the Eastern Highlands, Nyanga, Vumba, Chimanimani and Honde Valley, do keep in mind that these are the coldest regions in the country. The cold and wind there can be too much for those who are not used to it.
So it’s best to travel during the summer and avoid traveling during the rainy days if you do not have a high clearance vehicle.
In both hot and cold regions, it is better to visit during off peak seasons if you are a budget traveller. The rates of lodges and hotels will be lower as there will be less traffic.
