MUTARE-Zanu PF Secretary for War Veterans Douglas Mahiya has implored
liberation loyalists to lead in promoting and spreading the values of nationalism in
    their respective communities.
This comes in light of the ruling Zanu PF party continued mobilisation drive and
campaign ahead of the harmonised elections set for August 23, with a War
Veterans League meeting being held in Mutare to map the way forward.
The meeting was presided over by Zanu PF Secretary for War Veterans Affairs,
Douglas Mahiya, who stressed that liberation stalwarts had a key role to play in
uniting the party and spreading its ideology to the grassroots level.
“As Zanu PF we want to ensure we win the elections. As such we are engaging our
party organs including the war veterans league. This is a critical organ of the party
who understand our history and ideology and should advance our interests
    wherever they are,” he said.
Mahiya said they were mobilising everyone in the country starting with children of
war veterans, war collaborators, ex-political prisoners, detainees to ensure a
flawless victory for Zanu PF in the upcoming elections next month.
“We are mobilising all our forces, all our people and everything we can do within
our power starting off with the children of war veterans,” he added.
The local leadership also spoke on the importance of unity in the party and
expressed gratitude to the government for the development drive across all sectors
    of the economy.
“As war veterans we are committed and have dedicated ourselves to advancing the
interests of the ruling party. We want to ensure we win in this election
resoundingly. We are sharpening each other, sharing ideas and above all reassuring
each other of our unwavering support for the party. This meeting was a show of

unity and loyalty in the party,” said Zanu PF Manicaland War Veterans Chair,
    Linda Matatu.
All hands are on deck as Zimbabwe goes to the polls on August 23 this year.
