Harare, (New Ziana) – As a show of its commitment to strengthening coaching standards across the country and ensuring that local coaches stay up to date with evolving trends and methodologies in the sport, the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) on Monday rolled out the CAF B Refresher Coaching Course in Harare.
Running until Friday, the program is for current holders of the CAF B Licence and provides them an opportunity to refresh their knowledge in line with the latest CAF guidelines.
It will be combining theoretical and practical sessions that are designed to help experienced coaches reconnect with modern tactical, technical, and player development approaches.
ZIFA head of technical, Dominique Niyonzima, who is facilitating the course, highlighted the importance of continuous learning for coaches.
“Football is constantly evolving, and as coaches, we must evolve with it. This refresher course gives our coaches the opportunity to realign with new developments in the game, exchange ideas, and continue learning.
By ensuring that even those who trained in the past are updated and equipped with the latest knowledge, we are strengthening the overall quality of coaching in Zimbabwe and preparing our coaches to contribute effectively to player and team development. ZIFA remains committed to advancing technical education and capacity building at all levels of the game,” he said.
He added that through initiatives such as the CAF B Refresher Course, the association continues to empower Zimbabwean coaches with the tools and knowledge required to meet international standards and drive football development across the country.
The CAF B Refresher Course also serves as a mentoring and assessment platform for coach educators Wilson Mutekede, Tafadzwa Mashiri, Sithethelelwe Sibanda, and Joseph Sibindi, who will be assisting throughout the week as part of their own professional growth.
