Harare (New Ziana)- The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) on Sunday fired national team coach Zdravko Logarusic.

This follows a string of poor results since his appointment last year.

From the 14 matches he presided over, he won one match, losing eight and drawing five.

The national team, also knows as Warriors, only scored eight goals and conceded 19.

In the last seven matches, the team was winless with the latest defeat to minnows, Ethiopia being the trigger.

Loga’s backroom staff which included Lloyd Chitembwe, Tonderai Ndiraya and Benjani Mwaruwari has also been disbanded.

In a statement, ZIFA spokesperson Xolisani Gwesela confirmed the sacking of the Croat.

“The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) would like to inform the football fraternity and the nation at large that it has amicably parted ways with senior men’s team coach Zdravko Logarusic. The decision was arrived at upon consideration by the full Executive committee of all the various relevant circumstances pertaining to the coach’s contract

“The decision was arrived at upon consideration by the full Executive Committee of all the various relevant circumstances pertaining to the coach’s contract,” said Gwesela.

“The entire technical team has also been disbanded.

Gwesela added: “The appointment of the interim technical team shall be announced in due course…”
