Harare, (New Ziana) -Zimbabwe Cricket has announced a thrilling international schedule, featuring high-stakes Test matches and a T20 International (T20I) tri-nation series with South Africa and New Zealand.
The action-packed tournament will run from June to August this year, showcasing the best of Zimbabwean cricket. According to Zimbabwe Cricket, “This is the biggest international home season we have had in years, and it is an incredible opportunity for our players to test themselves against two of the world’s cricketing powerhouses.”
The tournament will kick off with a two-match Test series between Zimbabwe and South Africa at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo.
The first Test is scheduled for June 28 to July 2, followed by the second Test from July 6 to10. Following the Test series, Zimbabwe, South Africa, and New Zealand will shift their focus to the T20I tri-series at the Harare Sports Club.
The T20I tri-series will commence on July 14, with Zimbabwe facing South Africa, followed by South Africa taking on New Zealand on July 16.
The tournament will conclude with the final on July 26, where the top two teams will battle for the title. All T20I matches will start at 13:00 hours local time.
After the T20I spectacle, New Zealand will remain in Zimbabwe for a two-match Test series against the hosts at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo.
The first Test is slated for July 30 to August 3, with the second taking place from August 7 to 11. Zimbabwe and South Africa have a long-standing rivalry, with the neighbouring country dominating the Test series 19-8. In the 17 Test matches that Zimbabwe and New Zealand have faced each other, the South Pacific country leads 11-3.
