CHINHOYI- STANBIC Bank, one of the country’s a leading financial institutions has expanded its presence with a new satellite branch in Chinhoyi, providing convenient 24/7 automated teller machine services to residents and businesses.

The new branch located at Chinhoyi’s main post office will initially offer ATM services for withdrawals, deposits, balance inquiries and payment services. The development follows similar initiatives by the bank in Kariba and Bindura.

The ATM is already working and there is a security guard manning the place.

An employee from Pan African Mine who transferred from Zimplats mine, who declined identification said having such services in Chinhoyi was an advantage to him since he no longer has hustles of travelling to either Harare or Chegutu to access banking services.

“We are excited to receive such cutting edge services locally. This expansion demonstrates the bank’s commitment to increasing accessibility and convenience for us customers,” he said.

Most journalists who are members of the Media Institute of Southern Africa used to travel to Harare to deposit their membership subscriptions.

Chinhoyi did not have Stanbic Bank branch since independence and this is the first if its kind in this town.

In Mashonaland West Province Stanbic Bank has one branch in Chegutu. Kariba has an ATM which was setup two months ago and is offering the same service as the recently opened Chinhoyi satellite branch.

Stanbic is not the first financial institution to open a satellite branch in this town. There is another bank situated along Robson Manyika Drive, operating the same way.

Stanbic is an international bank which used to operate in major towns targeting employees from transnational companies. Most donor communities prefer using this bank.
