MUTARE- When infidelity happens, the betrayed spouse is hit with a flurry of
painful emotions all at once leading to confusion, anger and depression.
A 42-year-old Odzi man could not stomach the reality of his wife falling into
the arms of another man and committed suicide by hanging himself on the roof
trusses following misunderstandings with his wife over her infidelity.
Manicaland police spokesperson, Inspector Nobert Muzondo said Leonard
Mwasvongwa Matare separated with his wife sometime in May and went to live
    in with his mother
According to Matare’s mother, Sibongile Matare, Leonard was suffering from
    depression since the separation.
On the fateful day, Sibongile was woken up by a strange sound from Leonard’s
    room.
She went in to check on her son and found him hanging from the roof trusses.
The matter was reported at Odzi police station and officers attended the scene.
They took Matare’s body to Victoria Chitepo Hospital for a post mortem.
Meanwhile, a 48- year- old Rusape man fell off a scotch-cart while fetching
    firewood for domestic use.
Anthony Mashonganyika of Mayo, Chief Makoni went to Nyamatimbi
Mountain to fetch firewood in the company of a friend.
On their way back home, the cart hit a tree stump resulting in Mashonganyika
falling over and cutting his head.
His friend only identified as Christopher took him home and notified
    Mashonganyika’s uncle of the accident.
He later died at home as arrangements were being made to take him to the
    nearest clinic for medical attention.
