GWERU – Coming to work will no longer be a hustle for civil servants based in rural areas after the
Public Service Commission unveiled three more buses to reduce transport problems for its workers
    in the Midlands Province.
Speaking at the official commissioning on the buses at the government complex in Gweru on
Tuesday, Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution in the Midlands province, Senator
Larry Mavima said the new buses will ferry civil servants in Gokwe, Mvuma and those who commute
    from Kwekwe to Gweru.
Midlands got three buses out of the 18 buses which were commissioned by President Mnangagwa in
    Lupane last week.
A passenger will pay RTGS$8 per trip.
Senator Mavima said the buses are part of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s promise of providing
non-cash incentives to civil servants and will assist to ease transport problems for some of its
    workers.
''Coming to work should no longer be a hustle for civil servants because your government and his
Excellency President Cde E.D. Mnangagwa have the capacity to bring to you transport to come and
perform your duties effectively,'' he said.
Minister Mavima said the bus allocated to Gokwe and Mvuma will be used to transport civil servants
in the rural areas and this cements the President’s mantra of “leaving no one and no place behind”.
The Provincial Coordinator for Public Service Commission Andrew Chimanyiwa thanked President
Mnangagwa for allocating buses to the Midlands Province in a bid to arrest the transport woes for
    civil servants in the province.
''Our President his Excellency Cde E.D Mnangagwa issued 18 buses to all the provinces in Zimbabwe
and to the Midlands Province he gave three buses and we as the Public Service Commission are
    grateful,'' he said.
Chimanyiwa said the buses were specifically allocated to satisfy the needs of civil servants in the
    rural areas.
Provincial Director for Education in the Midlands Province Jameson Machimbira also applauded the
government for the efforts they are carrying out in terms of providing transport to the civil servants.
''The allocation of these buses instills confidence on civil servants as they will be comfortably using
buses that are meant for them and I am certain that the transport problems that were being faced
by civil servants will be reduced,'' he said.

Machimbira called upon Zimbabweans to continue joining hands with the government to ensure the
    prosperity of the country.
