    Nearly 70 senior police officers promoted on retirement

    Harare, (New Ziana) – The Zimbabwe Republic Police has announced the promotion of 67 senior police officers ahead of their retirement.

    The promotions, which are in line with the government’s vision 2030, were sanctioned by President Emmerson Mnangagwa who is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) according to the Commissioner-General, Tandabantu Godwin Matanga who announced the officers’ promotion and immediate retirement.

    They include six commissioners that were promoted to the rank of deputy commissioner generals, 12 assistant commissioners to full commissioners, 16 superintendents to assistant commissioners and 33 superintendents to the rank of chief superintendent.

    In a statement, national police spokesperson, commissioner Paul Nyathi said those promoted to deputy commissioner generals are Commissioners David Mahoya, Erasmus Makodza, Kudakwashe Mubemi, Priscilla Makotose, Winston Muzah and Basera Richard Mahoya.

    Promoted to full commissioners are assistant commissioners Simon Mundondwa, Sipo James Makone, Tadeus Madondo, Gerge Mugonda, Govo Johannes Chinembiri and Innocent Zimbwa.
    The others are assistant commissioners Godfrey Zimbwa, Richard Mubaiwa, Blessing Chitombo, Obey Moyo, Wilson Engelbert Chamunorwa and Shelton Dube.
